Reiki Training GuideReiki is a Japanese spiritual and healing practice developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900. The word Reiki translates to “spiritual energy”, and it is a complete system of well being that re-aligns one with one’s true path while helping to develop a deeper energetic connection to life. Reiki can be experienced in two ways, as a practitioner of the system, or as a client. Hands on healing, which is what the system of Reiki is mostly known for in the West today is only one of the elements of the traditional system of Reiki. The remaining four elements are: The Five Precepts, Meditations and Breathing Techniques, Mantras, Symbols and Attunements, also known as Spiritual Blessing. A Reiki Treatment consists of a practitioner serving as a channel to Reiki energy, which flows into the client through the process of gently “laying on hands” The benefits of Reiki are vast, from general well being, relaxation and stress reduction to supporting body’s organs and systems during illness and recovery process. Reiki is quickly gaining recognition in the field of Alternative Therapies and has been used in hospitals, cancer centers, operating rooms and hospices. Although the system of Reiki continues to grow and evolve today, many of its practitioners are reconnecting with its Japanese roots and integrating the system’s heritage into their practice.
